What happens in the browser

The browser renders PDF pages for preview and records your edits as overlays with exact page coordinates. On download, those overlays are embedded into a new PDF so the visible result travels with the file instead of existing only inside the web page.

Step-by-step workflow

1. Open the PDF in the editor.
2. Choose a page and add text, drawing, image, highlight, or signature elements.
3. Position and resize each element while viewing the page preview.
4. Review all edited pages.
5. Download the edited PDF and confirm the changes in a normal PDF reader.

When this tool is useful

• Filling small missing labels or dates on a form.
• Adding a signature image or quick annotation.
• Marking corrections on a proof or draft.
• Placing a logo or stamp on a document before sharing.

Limitations to know before downloading

• This is not the same as editing the original Word, InDesign, or source layout file.
• Existing scanned text cannot be changed as text unless OCR or source editing is used.
• Complex interactive forms may need a dedicated PDF form editor.
